Contents: | The work on the
third film about Gail Weathers' book of the scream killings has just started. But on the
set of "Stab 3 - Return to Woodsboro" some actors are killed. Someone with the
well known Scream mask is now directing the movie in his own way. And each time someone is
killed Detective Mark Kincaid (Patrick Dempsey) finds a picture of Sidney
Prescott's mother, who was murdered in Woodsboro years before. Because he thinks that the
key must be somewhere in the past, he asks Gail Weather (Courtney Cox Arquette)
to help him. Together with Dewey Riley (David Arquette), well known from Scream and Scream 2, and Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) they start a fight against the murderer. And Sidney is sure: She'll never be the victim again! |

Review: | This final part of
the Scream trilogy is presented in a surprisingly unbloody way. Courtney Cox
Arquette performs Gail Weathers with a lot of energy and has funny dialogues
"against" Jennifer Jolie (Parker Posey), who plays her role in
"Stab 3". But Neve Campbell and David Arquette do not
offer very satisfying performances. Most of the time the story seems to be unnatural and contrived, but Wes Craven puts the logic in his primary point of view. And in fact, at the end we get a round and closed up ending for this trilogy. To get this typical human deja-vu feeling Craven always plays with, you need to have seen the first part(s) of Scream. The casting of Scream 3 wasn't easy: They had to find a second player for every role in Scream 1. The result is that there are a lot of absolutely unknown actors. You needn't know who's going to be killed, but who is the next on the list. This problem wasn't there in Scream 1... But we have more news: All the double meanings in so many dialogues, of course. Somehow it seems to be like a parody of itself! All in all Scream 3 is better than expected (after watching Scream 2)! |
